Filing requirements:
- A request for the grant of the patent in triplicate ;
- 3 copies of the specification in Dutch or French;
- A power of attorney, if a patent attorney has been appointed;
- 3 sets of drawings ;
- An abstract with, if need be ,drawing, the whole in triplicate;
- In case of priorities: filing date, number and state of the original applications, a certified copy of the involved applications, and an assignment deed, if necessary
- A request for preliminary search

Granting:
- Ten years from the filing date

Renewals:
- Six years

Trademarks

Filing requirements:
- Full name and address of the applicant;
- The trademark and at least one print if is a design mark;
- A power attorney;
- The list of goods and services, with the indication of international classes;
- For collective trademarks the rules of use and control;
- Information about the convention priority, and certified copy of the priority application;

Granting:
- Ten years from the filing date;

Renewals:
- Periods of ten years

Designs and Models

Filing requirements:
- Full name and address of the applicant
- Photographic or graphic representations of the product to be protected
- The precise indication of the product in which the design or model is incorporated
- A power of attorney
- Information about the convention priority and certified copy of the priority application
- Assignment of priority rights

Granting:
- Five years

Renewals:
- Successive periods of five years
