- Copy of claim amendments under art19 (PCT regulations);
- Copy of the international preliminary examination report including any annexes or other amendments made during the examination (only under chapter II);

Granting:
The term of a patent is twenty years from the filing date.

Renewals:
Annually as from the end of the second year from filing

Trademarks

Filing Requirements:
- Power of Attorney
- If priority claimed, priority document together with certified French Translation
- Ten prints and a printing block of the trade mark - word and device marks.
- If applicant is a company, a certified copy of the certificate of incorporation, legalised up to Libyan consular level.

Law:
Trade Mark Law no. 40 of August 11, 1956; Amendment Law no. 3 of February 26, 1962.
A new trade mark system has been adopted, including the restructuring of the application and examination procedures. There is uncertainty regarding applications filed under the old system, ie. that previous applications and registrations will be disregarded by the trade marks office and applicants and proprietors will need to re-file in terms of the new system.

-The protection is for ten years;

Renewals:
-For periods of ten years

The term of protection is 15 years from the filing date.
